Outreach programme to the construction industry

Currently, construction in Ireland is in the doldrums after a period of exceptional activity.  Nevertheless, the industry still consumes very significant volumes of timber, both home-grown and imported, and we need to maintain a vigilant approach with regard to its origins.  Most of the timber imported into Ireland is not credibly certified, and regrettably much of this derives from illegal logging and unsustainably manage areas of forest.

We are actively lobbying the industry, construction professionals, and commissioners of large scale building projects to raise awareness of the need to specify certified timber.
